The final football match at the King Fahd International Stadium took place on 29 January 2023. Al-Ittihad from Jeddah won the game after Abderrazak Hamdallah scored twice. Abderrazak Hamdallah played various matches for the national football team of Morocco. Later, Saudi Arabia was confirmed as the host of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup. The final of the Asian championship for national football teams will probably take place at the King Fahd International Stadium.
