The stadium was one of the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup venues. It was the fourth edition of the tournament. The 2008 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup was won by the United States after beating the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, commonly known as North Korea. The 2008 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup final took place at the Estadio Bicentenario Municipal de La Florida in front of 12,000 spectators. Audax Club Sportivo Italiano use the stadium named Estadio Bicentenario Municipal de La Florida for home games. The club was founded in 1910. In 1936, they were crowned Chilean football champions for the first time in their history. Audax Italiano were crowned football champions of Chile four times in the 20th century.
