There are plans to demolish or renovate Old Trafford, one of the largest sports venues by capacity in the United Kingdom. The football stadium hosted several FIFA World Cup games in 1966. It is the home of Manchester United Football Club, one of the major English sports clubs. In 1999, they won their first world championship title after beating LDU from Ecuador.
The Glazer family
In 2021, Joel Glazer revealed Old Trafford might be renovated in the future. Manchester United fans have put pressure on the Glazer family to upgrade the stadium. The football club was purchased by Malcolm Irving Glazer in 2005. The former billionaire also owned the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, an American football club from Florida. Malcolm Glazer died in 2014 at the age of 85.
