They won the game against Ireland 2-0.

On 29 July 2021, the national football team of the United States faced Qatar in their first match at the Q2 Stadium. The home side won the game. 20,000 fans showed up for the match. On 7 October 2021, the national football team of the United States played their first FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Q2 Stadium. They won the game against Jamaica in front of a capacity crowd. The national football team of the United States also won their second match at the Q2 Stadium after defeating Grenada 5-0. Jesús David Ferreira Castro scored the first hat-trick at the Q2 Stadium in that game.

Austin FC, also known as The Oaks, use the Q2 Stadium for home games. They played their fist-ever Major League Soccer match on 17 April 2021. Austin Football Club lost the game against Los Angeles Football Club. They played their second Major League Soccer match against the Colorado Rapids. Austin FC won the game, which took place in Colorado. They faced the San Jose Earthquakes in their first Major League Soccer home match at the Q2 Stadium. A capacity crowd of 20,000 attended the game, which ended in a goalless draw. A few days later, Jon Gallagher scored the first Major League Soccer goal at the Q2 Stadium in front of a capacity crowd. He was born in the Republic of Ireland in 1996. Gallagher played his first games for Austin Football Club in 2021.
