The construction of the football stadium, which is among the main sports venues in Nashville, started in 2020. On 19 February 2023, the GEODIS Park hosted its first-ever match for the women’s national football team of the United States. They won the game against Japan 1-0. A crowd of 25,000 showed up for the game. In 1991, the women’s national football team of the United States won the inaugural edition of the tournament which is currently known as the FIFA Women’s World Cup. They won the world championship title after beating Norway in the Chinese city of Guangzhou.
The first Major League Soccer game for Nashville SC
