The construction of the venue started in 2018 and its construction costs were $250 million. The TQL Stadium opened as one of the largest sports venues by capacity in Ohio. The women’s national football team of the United States played their first game at the TQL Stadium on 21 September 2021. They won the match against Paraguay 8-0 in front of 22,000 spectators. On 12 November 2021, the national football team of the United States faced the United Mexican States in their first game at the TQL Stadium. The 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup
The TQL Stadium hosted its first game for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the North American championship for national football teams, in 2023. Jamaica won the quarter-final after beating Guatemala. Amari’i Kyren Bell scored the only goal of the match. The venue named TQL Stadium hosted another CONCACAF Gold Cup game in 2019. The United States won the quarter-final against Canada after a penalty shoot-out.
FC Cincinnati
FC Cincinnati, also known as Orange and Blue, use the venue named TQL Stadium for home games. They drew an average home attendance of 27,000 in their inaugural MLS season. FC Cincinnati played their first-ever Major League Soccer match on 3 March 2019. The Seattle Sounders won the game, which took place in Seattle in front of 39,000 fans. Leonardo Bertone, who was born in the Swiss Confederation in 1994, scored the first MLS goal for FC Cincinnati in that game. FC Cincinnati faced Atlanta United in their second MLS match.
