The construction of the Barclays Center started in March 2010. The arena opened as one of the largest sports venues by capacity in the city of New York. It became a venue for several events, like basketball, boxing, concerts, esports, gymnastics, ice hockey, mixed martial arts and wrestling. The New York Liberty
The New York Libery moved to the Barclays Center in 2021. They play in the Women’s National Basketball Association, the top-flight basketball league of the United States. In 1997, the New York Liberty played in the first-ever edition of the WNBA. They reached the WNBA Championship that year. The New York Liberty lost the championship match, which took place in Texas. On 1999, they returned in the WNBA Championship. The Liberty lost the championship series that year. They also lost the championship series twice in the 2000s.
