Extra stadium info – Sam Boyd Stadium
The stadium, which opened as the home of the American football team of the UNLV Rebels, is named after a major figure in the hotel and casino industry in Las Vegas. It is known as a venue for several events, like American football, concerts, football, monster truck events and rugby sevens. The Las Vegas Quicksilvers, a former club of the world famous football legend Eusébio, played various matches at the stadium. The Quicksilvers football club was dissolved in 1978. In 2012, 29,000 people came to the Sam Boyd Stadium to watch a football match between Real Madrid from Spain and Santos Laguna from the United Mexican States. It became a record attendance for a football match in Nevada.
