The Las Vegas Quicksilvers, a former club of the world famous football legend Eusébio, played various matches at the stadium. The Quicksilvers football club was dissolved in 1978. In 2012, 29,000 people came to the Sam Boyd Stadium to watch a football match between Real Madrid from Spain and Santos Laguna from the United Mexican States.
