Extra stadium info – Sam Boyd Stadium
The stadium, which opened as the home of the American football team of the UNLV Rebels, is named after a major figure in the hotel and casino industry in Las Vegas. It is known as a venue for several events, like American football, concerts, football, monster truck events and rugby sevens. The Las Vegas Quicksilvers, a former club of the world-famous football legend Eusébio, played numerous matches at the stadium. The Quicksilvers football club was dissolved in 1978. In 2012, 29,000 people came to the Sam Boyd Stadium to watch a football match between Real Madrid from Spain and Santos Laguna from the United Mexican States. It became a record attendance for a football match in Nevada.
