The construction of the venue started in 2020 and its construction costs were $457 million. The stadium opened with a football match. The German side Bayer 04 Leverkusen, who played their first-ever UEFA Champions League final in 2002, won the game. The Spanish club Real Madrid, the first sports club with 100 million followers on its main social media page, won the UEFA Champions League final in 2002. The women’s national football team of the United States played their first game at the Energizer Park on 11 April 2022. They won the friendly against Ireland 1-0 in front of 22,000 people. On 9 September 2023, the national football team of the United States also won their first friendly at the Energizer Park. That day, they defeated Uzbekistan 3-0 in front of a crowd of 15,000.

St. Louis CITY SC use the venue named Energizer Park for home games. The Major League Soccer club was founded in 2019. Bradley Neil Carnell became the first manager of St. Louis CITY. He played professional football in South Africa and Germany. Bradley Carnell played 42 games for the national football team of South Africa. On 26 February 2023, St. Louis CITY played their first-ever MLS game. They won the match against Austin FC from Texas.
The first MLS home game and Copetti
St. Louis CITY played their first-ever MLS home game on 4 March 2023. They won the top-flight football league match against Charlotte FC from North Carolina 3-1. 22,000 spectators showed up for the game. Enzo Nahuel Copetti scored the first Major League Soccer goal at the Energizer Park. He was born in the Argentine Republic, commonly known as Argentina, in 1996. Copetti played professional football in the Argentine Republic before he played his first MLS game for Charlotte FC in 2023.
