The arena opened as the Baltimore Civic Center. It was named Royal Farms Arena before it became the CFG Bank Arena. The construction costs of the arena were $14 million. It became a venue for several events, like basketball, boxing, box lacrosse, concerts, ice hockey, indoor American football, indoor football, mixed martial arts, tennis and wrestling.
