The construction of the Honda Center started in 1990. Its construction costs were $123 million. The arena is known as a venue for several events. Various world famous artists performed at the Honda Center. It opened with a concert of Barry Manilow. The Japanese company Honda, which became the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer, paid $60 million for the venue’s naming rights in 2006. The Anaheim Ducks, one of the first ice hockey clubs with 100,000 followers on its main social media page, use the Honda Center for home games. They play in the National Hockey League, which became the most popular ice hockey league in the world. The ice hockey club was founded in 1993 by The Walt Disney Company as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.
The Ducks in 2003
In 2003, the Ducks faced the New Jersey Devils in their debut in the finals of the Stanley Cup. The Devils won the Stanley Cup twice before they faced the Ducks in the finals of the Stanley Cup in 2003. The championship series of the NHL consisted of seven matches. The Devils won the Stanley Cup after winning four of those seven matches. On 31 May 2003, the Honda Center hosted it first game for the finals of the Stanley Cup. 17,000 fans attended the game, which ended in a victory for the Ducks.
The Ducks in 2007
In 2007, the Anaheim Ducks reached the finals of the Stanley Cup for the second time in their history. They faced the Ottawa Senators from Canada in those finals. Four of the five games in the finals ended in a victory for the Ducks. The first Stanley Cup match between the Ducks and the Senators took place on 28 May 2007. The Anaheim Ducks won the game at the Honda Center in front of a crowd of 17,000.
