The stadium hosted the 2007 Cricket World Cup final, which was won by Australia after defeating Sri Lanka. 20,000 people attended the cricket match. The Barbados Royals use the Kensington Oval for home matches. The club was founded in 2013. In 2014, they won the CPL for the first time in their history.
