Brentford FC in 2020
Brentford FC played their inaugural match at the Gtech Community Stadium on 1 September 2020. The game between Brentford FC and Oxford United ended in a 2-2 draw. The Spanish winger Sergi Canós Tenés scored both goals for Brentford FC during that game. Brentford Football Club played their first-ever league game at the Gtech Community Stadium on 19 September 2020. They defeated Huddersfield Town 3-0 in that match.
The 2022 UEFA European Women’s Football Championship
On 8 July 2022, the Gtech Community Stadium hosted its first continental championship game. It was a UEFA European Women’s Football Championship match. The women’s national football team of Germany won the game against Denmark 4-0. A crowd of 15,000 showed up for the European championship match. A few days later, Germany also defeated Spain in the second UEFA European Women’s Football Championship game at the Gtech Community Stadium. 16,000 spectators attended the match. Two more UEFA European Women’s Football Championship games took place at the Gtech Community Stadium in July 2022. The first one ended in a victory for Spain and the second one ended in a victory for Germany.
