The construction costs of the RCDE Stadium, which opened as one of the largest stadiums by capacity in Spain, were €60 million. The venue was renamed several times. Several world-famous artists performed at the RCDE Stadium. It opened with a football match between RCD Espanyol and Liverpool FC. Espanyol won the game against the English football giants 3-0.
