Extra stadium info – Goffertstadion
The stadium is also known as De Bloedkuul. NEC (Nijmegen Eendracht Combinatie) use the Goffertstadion for home games. The club was founded in 1900. They played numerous Dutch top-flight football league matches. In 1973, NEC played their first-ever Dutch cup final against NAC Breda. The side from Breda won the match. On 6 May 1990, 22,000 fans showed up at the Goffertstadion for a football game between NEC and AFC Ajax. The record attendance for a match which included NEC at the Goffertstadion was broken that day. In 2021, the away stand of the venue collapsed after a match between NEC and arch-rivals Vitesse.
