HJK and IFK Helsingfors both use the stadium for home games. In 1998, HJK played their first-ever UEFA Champions League game. They lost the European football championship match in Eindhoven against PSV. The Dutch football club from Eindhoven won the European championship for football clubs in 1988 for the first time in their history after beating the Portuguese side Benfica. The same year, PSV became vice-world champions in football.
