The arena is known as a venue for various events, like basketball, concerts, floorball, ice hockey and tennis. In 2008, the venue hosted its first National Hockey League game, which was played between the New York Rangers and the Tampa Bay Lightning. The ice hockey match between the clubs from the United States took place in front of a crowd of 17,000. HC Sparta Praha, one of the major ice hockey clubs from the Czech Republic, use the O2 arena for home games. They won the top-flight ice hockey league of the Czech Republic various times.
