Extra stadium info – Al-Maktoum Stadium

The stadium was one of the venues for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. The first-ever AFC Asian Cup match at the venue was won by the national football team of Korea after beating the Philippines 1-0. The second AFC Asian Cup match at the stadium was won by Thailand after defeating Bahrain. Al-Nasr SC, one of the first sports clubs from the United Arab Emirates with 100,000 followers on its main social media page, use the venue for home games. The club was founded in 1945. In 1978, they won the top-flight football league of the United Arab Emirates for the first time in their history.
