Bursaspor, nicknamed Yesil Timsahlar (Green Crocodiles), was founded in 1963. They won the Turkish football championship in 2010 for the first time in their history. The same year, Bursaspor made their debut in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, one of the major sports competitions in the world. They finished below the English side Manchester United FC, the Spanish side Valencia CF and the Scottish side Rangers FC in the group stage of the tournament.
