The Punjab Stadium is among the main sports venues in the city of Lahore. It known as a venue for various events, like athletics, football, kabaddi, rugby league and rugby union. The national football team of Pakistan played numerous matches at the stadium. On 8 December 2009, they scored seven goals against Bhutan at the SAFF Championship. Muhammad Essa Khan, Reis Ashraf, Arif Mehmood and Shabir Khan all scored for the national football team of Pakistan that day. It became the biggest win for Pakistan at the SAFF Championship.
Zeshan Rehman
Zeshan Rehman played numerous games for the national football team of Pakistan. He played professional football in China, Malaysia, the United Kingdom and Thailand. On 17 April 2004, Rehman made his Premier League debut for the English side Fulham FC in a 0-0 draw against Liverpool FC, the second English football club with a world championship title. Zeshan Rehman replaced Alfred Manuel Petta, commonly known as Bobby Petta, that day. Rehman became the first person who played for the national football team of Pakistan and in the Premier League. The Premier League is among the major sports competitions in the world.
