The stadium became one of the largest sports venues by capacity in Malaysia. Kelab Bola Sepak Kelantan use the venue for home matches. In 2011, they were crowned Malaysian football champions for the first time in their history. KBS Kelantan won 17 of the 26 domestic league games during that football season. Five of those 26 games ended in a draw. In 2012, KBS Kelantan won the top-flight football league of Malaysia for the second time in their history. They won the title after gathering 60 points in 26 matches.
