The stadium, which is named after a wrestler, is also known as a venue for athletics. Ordabasy use the stadium for home games. It is among the main football clubs from Kazakhstan. Ordabasy won the cup tournament of Kazakhstan in 2011 for the first time in their history. Mukhtar Mukhtarov, who played numerous matches for the national football team of Kazakhstan, scored the only goal in the final. In 2023, Ordabasy were crowned football champions of Kazakhstan for the first time in their history. They drew an average home attendance of 16,000 in that domestic top-flight football league season.
