The ballpark was named Rakuten Seimei Park Miyagi before it became the Rakuten Mobile Park Miyagi in 2022. The Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles use the stadium for home matches. The baseball club became one of the first Japanese sports clubs with 100,000 followers on its main social media page. The Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles won the Japan Series in 2013 for the first time in their history. They drew an average home attendance of 16,000 in that domestic league season.
