The construction of the ES CON FIELD HOKKAIDO, which has a retractable roof, started in 2020. It is located on the island of Hokkaido. The stadium opened with a Nippon Professional Baseball match between the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. 31,000 fans attended the game, which was won by the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. The Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters baseball club, one of the first Japanese baseball clubs with 1 million followers on its main social media page, was founded in 1945 under a different name. In 1962, they won the Japan Series for the first time in their history after beating the Hanshin Tigers.
