Extra stadium info – Barasat District Sports Stadium
The Barasat District Sports Stadium became the largest sports venue by capacity in Barasat. It hosted numerous football games of East Bengal, one of the first Indian sports clubs with 1 million followers on its main social media page. In 1986, East Bengal played in the group stage of the Asian championship for football clubs for the first time in their history. Five other clubs also participated in the group stage of the tournament. The final of the tournament was won by a Korean club after defeating a club from Saudi Arabia and the third-place match was won by an Indonesian club after defeating a club from Syria.
