In 2011, the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium was one of the Cricket World Cup venues. Four Cricket World Cup matches took place at the stadium that year. On 22 February 2011, the venue hosted the first one. The national cricket team of England won the game after beating New Zealand. Australia won the second one after beating New Zealand. The third Cricket World Cup match at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium was won by Zimbabwe after defeating Canada.
