The JRD Tata Sports Complex Stadium is nicknamed The Furnace. The Dutch side PSV from Eindhoven and São Paulo Futebol Clube from Brazil played at the venue. PSV played their first decisive world championship match in 1988 against Club Nacional de Football from Uruguay. São Paulo FC played their first decisive world championship match against the world famous Spanish side FC Barcelona in 1992.
Jamshedpur FC and Stephen James Coppell

Stephen James Coppell became the first manager of the club a few months after he reached the ISL final with the Kerala Blasters. He played numerous matches for the national football team of England. Jamshedpur Football Club made their debut in the Indian Super League in 2017. They played their first home game in the league with 23,000 people in attendance. The match ended in a 0-0 draw. Jamshedpur FC won their first ISL game on 6 December 2017. It was their fourth ISL match. Izu Bobo Azuka scored the first Indian Super League goal for Jamshedpur FC. He played several matches for the national football team of Nigeria. Jamshedpur Football Club, nicknamed Men of Steel, finished fifth place in their inaugural ISL season after gathering 26 points in 18 matches. They won seven of those 18 games. Five games ended in a draw and six games ended in a loss. Jamshedpur FC drew an average home league attendance of 21,000 during that football season.
