Extra stadium info – Tianjin Tuanbo Football Stadium
The construction of the stadium started in 2010. The football club which was dissolved as Tianjin Tianhai used the venue for home games. They played numerous matches in the Chinese top-flight football league. The club was dissolved in 2020. The football club which is currently named Tianjin Jinmen Tiger also used the Tianjin Tuanbo Football Stadium for home games. It became the first sports club from Tianjin with 1 million followers on its main social media page.
The AFC Champions League
The club which is currently named Tianjin Jinmen Tiger made their debut in the group stage of the AFC Champions League, the Asian championship for football clubs, in 2009. They faced the Central Coast Mariners from Australia, Kawasaki Frontale from Japan and the Pohang Steelers from Korea in the group stage of the tournament. The football club which is currently known as Tianjin Jinmen Tiger finished third place in the group stage.
