The venue named Tiexi Stadium, also known as the West Stadium, has an athletics track. It is part of the Tiexi New District Sports Centre. The football club which folded in 2020 as Liaoning Hongyun used the stadium for home games. They were crowned Chinese football champions several times. The club which was named Liaoning Hongyun won the Asian championship for football clubs in 1990. The club which folded as Liaoning Hongyun moved to the Tiexi Stadium in 2008. They drew an average home attendance of 11,000 in that Chinese top-flight football league season.
