The stadium’s record attendance was set in 1956, when 26,000 people showed up for a cricket match. Andrew Flower, commonly known as Andy Flower, played cricket at the stadium. He became the captain of the national cricket team of Zimbabwe. Flower is often regarded as the best Zimbabwean cricket player ever.
