The stadium is among the main sports venues in Akwa Ibom. Vandrezzer Football Club, nicknamed Lions of Naija, use the Eket Stadium for home matches. The club was founded in 2019. Vandrezzer FC became the first Nigerian sports club with 1 million followers on its main social media page. Rafael Everton Lira, who was born in Brazil in 1989, became the first manager of Vandrezzer.
