A stampede occured during the game. The stampede led to two deaths. In 2016, a bomb detonated at the stadium, which led to two deaths and dozens of injured people. In 2018, a stampede to enter the venue for a match between the national football teams of Madagascar and Senegal led to one death and various injuries. On 26 June 2019, several people died in a stampede at the stadium named Kianja Barea Mahamasina. A concert was about to start. People heard that they could enter the stadium, but the doors were still closed. The crowd kept pushing to enter the venue.
