Extra stadium info – Stade Laurent Pokou
The construction of the stadium, which has an athletics track, started in 2018. It is named after Laurent N’Dri Pokou, a former football player who was born in Abidjan in 1947. He scored various goals for the national football team of the Côte d’Ivoire. The venue named Stade Laurent Pokou opened with a match between the national football teams of the Côte d’Ivoire and Lesotho. The Côte d’Ivoire won the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier 1-0. Ibrahim Sangaré scored the only goal of the game.
