Extra stadium info – Stade Ali-Ammar
The construction of the Stade Ali-Ammar, which is named after a former Algerian militant and revolutionary, started in 2010. It opened as one of the largest sports venues by capacity in Algeria. The football club named Mouloudia Club d’Alger use the stadium for home games. MC Alger, one of the first sports clubs from the Maghreb with 100,000 followers on its main social media page, was founded in 1921. In 1972, they were crowned Algerian football champions for the first time in their history. On 12 December 1976, MC Alger were crowned African football champions for the first time in their history after winning a match in Algiers in front of tens of thousands of spectators.
