In 1988, the stadium hosted baseball games for the Games of the Olympiad. The venue drew attendances above 30,000 for Korean Series matches. The Doosan Bears and the LG Twins use the stadium for home games. The Bears won the Korean Series in 1982 for the first time in their history. The LG Twins won the baseball tournament in 1990 for the first time in their history.
