Extra stadium info – Aoti Main Stadium
The construction of the stadium started in 1998. It was the main venue for the 2010 Asian Games. The stadium is among the largest sports venues by capacity in Asia. It hosted several football matches of the club which is now named Guangzhou Football Club. In 2013, Guangzhou FC were crowned football champions of Asia for the first time in their history. They won the title after beating FC Seoul from the Republic of Korea, commonly known as South Korea.
